Kallie Cart photo Hi everyone. I joined the Eyewitness News team in February 2011 and am excited to be on board. I was born and raised in West Virginia and feel very fortunate to be able to come back home and work close to my family.

I grew up in Red House in Putnam County and went to Buffalo High School. I have always wanted to be a reporter and still can't believe it has happened.

After I graduated from Buffalo, I ventured to upstate New York, where I went to Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. While at Syracuse, I had the opportunity to spend a semester in Madrid, Spain, and travel Europe. I graduated with a broadcast journalism degree in 2006.

After graduation, I got my first job at WZBN, a cable station in Trenton, N.J. Trenton was a great place to get my start in news. I covered the statewide government shutdown, Gov. Jon Corzine's severe car accident and numerous stories on crime and gangs. From there, I made my way back home to take a job as a reporter at WSAZ in Charleston. I was recognized by the West Virginia Broadcast Association as the "Best Reporter" in 2009 and for having the "Best Hard News Story" in 2009. In 2011, I started a new adventure, accepting a job with Eyewitness News in Charleston as an anchor and producer on the weekends and as a reporter Monday through Wednesday. I'm so excited to be able to stay close to home and continue to cover the stories that affect West Virginians.

In October 2012, I got married to Todd Moore. We live in Charleston with our only "child" Stella, our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. She rules our lives.

When I'm not doing news, chances are, I'm taking care of Stella or am watching sports. I'm a huge fan of most sports, football, golf, tennis, NASCAR, but especially college basketball. I love the Orange, but I also cheer on the Mountaineers and the Thundering Herd. I also love working out, taking on craft projects, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

If you have a story idea or just want to say "hi," please email me! You also can find me on Facebook as Kallie Cart and on Twitter @KallieCart. I look forward to hearing from you.
