Deborah Linz
I am a native of Maryland but have lived in West Virginia since 1999. I graduated from Virginia Tech and am a proud Hokie but always cheer on the Mountain State teams of WVU and Marshall!
During my time at WCHS and FOX 11 News I have won an EMMY for my series on St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I have also been nominated for an EMMY three other times for both reporting and anchoring. Combined The West Virginia Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press have voted me Best Anchor in the state 10 times. Outside of work I am a strong animal advocate. I have lobbied lawmakers on both the state and local level for better animal protection laws. I spearheaded and helped write landmark anti-dog tethering legislation for both the city of Charleston and Kanawha County. County Commissioners re-named the law, "The Linz Law". For exercise I love to bike and run. However, my husband, Charlie and I get plenty of exercise chasing around our two little kids. Over the years I have been active in my church, with the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, the Roark Sullivan Lifeway Center and the Jefferson Awards. I love educating and informing you the viewer. And I enjoy doing stories that make a difference in someone's life. If you have a unique story to tell please don't hesitate to e-mail me.
