Dann's former scheduler tried to rescind resignation

COLUMBUS, Ohio
Former Attorney General Marc Dann convinced his former scheduler to rescind the resignation she submitted May 1.



But correspondence released to reporters Friday shows that 28-year-old Jessica Utovich found out she wouldn't get her job back at the next day's televised news conference of investigation findings in Dann's office. Dann admitted to an extramarital affair with a subordinate and said his actions contributed to an inappropriate atmosphere.

He resigned Wednesday.

Utovich told Dann's administration in e-mails and letters that she was appalled by the way she had been treated and claimed she had been retaliated against.

Dann told internal investigators in sworn testimony that Utovich sometimes spent the night at his apartment.
