OH city denies excessive force in post-Taser death
February 07, 2012 7:42 PM

CINCINNATI
A southwest Ohio city has denied that excessive force was used against a man who died in 2009 after police stunned him with a Taser.

An attorney representing the Cincinnati suburb of Mason and two officers filed the answer Monday to allegations made in a lawsuit filed in federal court by Douglas Boucher's family.

The lawsuit alleges the police officers used excessive force on a mentally ill person, stunning Boucher numerous times and kicking and beating him.

Authorities said Boucher made sexual comments to a service station clerk and hit an officer after he was ordered outside. They said a Taser was used to subdue Boucher.

An autopsy report said Boucher died from a skull fracture when he fell. Investigations have cleared the officers of criminal wrongdoing.
