from Eyewitness News Online County government sues Herald-Leader over ad rates November 07, 2009 11:58 AM LEXINGTON, Ky.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is suing the Lexington Herald-Leader, claiming the newspaper treats it unfairly on advertising rates. The suit claims the Herald-Leader uses large, expensive type for the government's legal advertisements. The suit also claims the newspaper raised its rates without giving the legally required notice. State law requires the government to publish its ordinances and resolutions in the daily paper with largest circulation in the area. The suit seeks monetary damages, including a refund of any overcharges in the past five years. Herald-Leader President and Publisher Timothy M. Kelly said in a statement that the paper has done nothing wrong and plans to fight the suit. Information from: Lexington Herald-Leader, http://www.kentucky.com |
