Identity Theft Scam Hacker Accused of Stealing Millions
U.S. authorities say they've busted the largest identify theft scheme ever organized.
Federal prosecutors say they've caught a hacker allegedly responsible for stealing the identities of millions of people. 28-year old Alberto Gonzales is being indicted for hacking into computer networks at American retail and financial organizations, stealing more than 130-million credit and debt card numbers. And Gonzales apparently didn't work alone. The indictment says there are two un-named co-conspirators. The crimes allegedly took place between October 2006 and May 2008. Federal prosecutors say Gonzales and his hackers also used a sophisticated technique called "S-Q-L injection attack." It can break through a firewall and *sniff* out information. If convicted Gonzales could face up to 25 years in prison. Housing Market Improving? Home Builders More Confident
Many home builders say the future of the housing market is looking positive and believe the worst is behind them. The National Association of Home Builder's "Housing Market Index" shows builders are more confident than any other time this past year. More people are also house hunting. By the way, if you're a first-time home buyer, you have until December first to claim the credit worth up to eight-thousand dollars.
