South Charleston Police are looking for a woman, whom they say lured men to her house from a website, with the promise of sex, only it was all part of an elaborate robbery scheme.
Detectives believe it's happened as many as 25 times! The victims: men who thought they were about to get together with a pretty woman, only to end-up beaten and robbed.
There's an arrest warrant out right now for 19-year-old Courtney Cain. South Charleston Police said she would lure men from the dating site, “MeetMe.com”, to 408 Elm Street with the promise of sex. Only one man has come forward so far, from an incident back in June.
"He was the first person to come in and report this one," said Detective Charles Cook with the South Charleston Police Department. "She vaguely knew him through Facebook, he knew that this MeetMe.com website, she was using a fake name."
Cook said she called herself, ‘Courtney Darr’, online. The victim claims Cain told him she was drunk.
"Told him that she wanted to have sex with him to come over," said Cook.
But when he got to the house, the victim told police two men, Zachary Harrison and Brandon Bandy, were waiting at the bottom of the driveway.
"And then those two guys were waiting there to rob him," said Cook.
Police said they beat the man, stole his iPhone and some other items. The pair also confessed to police, this is not the first time this has happened.
Detectives went through her MeetMe.com account.
"Through there I could tell that there were several times that she had spoken of sex for money," said Cook.
The victim who came forward, was not involved in one of the alleged pay-for-sex incidents, but Bandy and Harrison both said Cain had accepted money for sex from the site. Police records of her text messages indicate sex for money had been part of some conversations. A woman who lives in the house, who told us her name is Jade, said she regrets letting her friend Cain stay there. Jade claims Courtney Cain is in Clarksburg right now.
Neighbors told us they're worried about everything they've witnessed next door and did not want to talk on camera. Police hope more victims, who may have been robbed, will come forward. If you think you know where Courtney Cain is, call the South Charleston Police Department.
