A Nitro mother of three and military wife is making international headlines after a series of conservative social media posts caused a firestorm of debate.
When Holly Fisher, 27, took to Twitter to celebrate the win by Hobby Lobby in the Supreme Court, she did not expect what would come next. Now she is the target of death threats, and has even been called an American terrorist.
"Holly Fisher is just another pro-life terrorist that doesn't have any problem murdering innocent doctors," Fisher read from responses to her Twitter account.
"I mean, this is the kind of stuff that people think about me," she said. "It's funny that the people who think that I'm intolerant for what I believe in are the ones saying the worst things."
The self-described conservative Christian mother of three and military wife said she has always been vocal about her political beliefs.
The day the U.S. Supreme Court sided with Hobby Lobby, ruling that corporations can't be required to provide contraception coverage for their employees, she posted a picture standing in front of the store, holding a Chick-fil-a cup and wearing a pro-life T-shirt.
"By the time I got home, it had already just exploded. It was really shocking," she said.
She said supporters chimed in that all her picture needed was a bible, gun and American flag, so, on the Fourth of July, she posted a picture of just that.
"Left wing bloggers really went crazy, even going as far as comparing her to a terrorist," a news anchor on Fox and Friends said.
Fisher said that comparison is absurd.
"She hates everything about this country, she would kill everyone in this country. There really is no comparison," she read
Fisher had previously said on Twitter that Obamacare caused her daughter to lose her cardiologist. Now, some are not only making death threats against her, but also her family.
"I don't really take those seriously," she said of the threats.
"I love this country, I love this state and I feel like right now, it's not in a good place," she said.
Fisher said she has worked in the background for some campaigns, but is not sure about a future in politics. She said she's honestly ready for the hype to settle down.
