Here is a chance to feast on barbecue, rub shoulders with some former Mountaineer greats and raise money for a good cause.

The Sugar Bowl Foundation is announcing its lineup of special guests for the 2014 Gold and Blue BBQ Presented by Suzette Raines. The event is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Friday, July 18, at St. Albans High School, according to a news release from the foundation.

Fans will be able to meet and greet former Mountaineers including Major Harris, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, John Pennington, Brad Knell, Mark Plants, Rasheed Marshall, Levi Phillips and Rick Sherrod.

In addition to getting a chance to meet former players, fans also will have a chance to get their hands on some great keepsakes. The Dale Sparks Collection Silent Auction will include items from Don Nehlen, Pat White and Avon Cobourne.

Organizers said 100 percent raised from the barbecue event ticket sales will be donated to the St. Albans High School girls’ athletic teams. Each program will use the funds to help with their financial needs in 2014-2015.

Tickets are $25, and the admission price covers food and drinks. Tickets can be purchased from members of St. Albans High girls’ athletic teams, Charleston Department Store, Generations Barbershop and on the foundation's website.
