Police Say Woman Sought In South Charleston Robbery

South Charleston police said they are seeking a woman in connection with a robbery after two alleged accomplices said she had set up the victim after agreeing on a social networking site to meet him and have sex.

Police said in a news release they have an active warrant on a robbery charge for Cortney Cain, 19. Two other men, Brandon G. Bandy, 20, and Zachary Harrison, 22, face robbery charges in connection with the 1:30 a.m. June 16 incident that occurred on Elm Street in South Charleston, police said.

The victim said a woman who he met through a social networking site invited him to come over to a house to have sex. He said he parked his car down the street and was walking with the woman when two males who had been parked in the driveway attacked him from behind and knocked him down, hitting and kicking him in the side of the head. He said the men stole his cell phone, watch and pocketknife.

South Charleston police said the woman identified Bandy and Harrison as the men who beat the victim and stole his items.

Police said Harrison told police that Cain through a site called meetme.com agreed to meet the man and have sex for money. He said that they planned to rob the man and Cain and another woman had done this at least 25 times previously. When the man came up to the house, Harrison told police, Bandy punched the victim and the victim fell. He said Bandy punched the man several more times, and he and Bandy went through the victim’s pockets.

Bandy also told police that Cain had set the victim up through the social network site and that she used a fictitious name with her photos and arranged for the victim to come over and have sex. Police said Bandy told them that Cain and the other woman had also told him about doing this several times before and ripping guys off. Bandy told police he believed they had actually gone through with having sex for money.

Police said Bandy told officers that he had sold the victim’s phone in the Elm Street attack for $180 and that he and Harrison had split the money 50-50.

South Charleston police said more charges could be pending in the case.

Bandy and Harrison are being held in the South Central Regional Jail on $100,000 bonds.




Two men face charges after they allegedly beat and stole items from a man who had made arrangements to have sex with a woman.
