Golfers continued to fight for positions on the leader board at The Greenbrier Classic in the second round of the competition on Friday.

Kevin Chappell and Chris Stroud finished their second rounds at 8 under while Troy Matteson was 7 under.

Meanwhile, Jonas Blixt, the defending champion who led the field in the first round at 6 under, was still finishing up his second round and was 2 under at hole 15 on the course.

Day two of the competition in The Greenbrier Classic on Friday had some golfers putting up some excellent scores as the field jockeys for position on the leader board.

Billy Hurley III shot a minus nine and Chris Stroud is at minus 8. Meanwhile, Jonas Blixt, last year’s defending champion, shot a minus 6 on Thursday and still had his round before him to fight to stay in the lead.

Play continued in the tournament at the White Sulphur Springs resort, where golf has always played a big part of its history, including hosting the West Virginia State Amateur. Now world-class golfers such as Bubba Watson and Tom Watson are playing rounds on the course and fighting for a title.

Defending champion Jonas Blixt shot a 6-under 64 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Greenbrier Classic.

Six of Blixt's 8 birdies came on putts of ten feet or less on the Old White TPC. The Swede also chipped in from the rough for birdie on No. 16.

Patrick Rodgers, the former Stanford star playing in his third tournament as a pro, was a stroke back along with Chris Kirk, D.A. Points, James Hahn, Jason Bohn, Joe Durant, Jim Renner and Danny Lee.

Steve Stricker topped the group at 66

Masters champion Bubba Watson, the top-ranked player in the field at No. 3 in the world, had a 68.
