A military veteran who received distinguished awards including the Purple Heart for his service in Afghanistan will be recognized and presented with the keys of a newly renovated home on Independence Day at the Maroon 5 concert.

U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. Ryan Long of Philadelphia will be recognized for his service and presented with the ceremonial keys to his 100 percent free mortgage-free home on stage during the concert at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds in Fairlea, according to a news release from The Greenbrier resort.

The concert is part of the festivities for The Greenbrier Classic professional golf tournament.

During his deployment in March 2012, Long was critically injured by an Improvised Explosive Device blast. Long received distinguished awards for his service including a Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.

Long will be paid tribute by several organizations -- the Military Warriors Support Foundation, The Greenbrier Classic, the PGA TOUR’s Birdies for the Brave program and Bank of America. The ceremonial keys will be presented to the soldier for his 100 percent mortgage-free home from the Military Warriors Support Foundation and Bank of America.

Also on the Fourth of July, The Greenbrier Classic will have a special American pin flag on the 18th hole, which military personnel will be tending it throughout the day.

Complimentary tournament admission is available for all military and their families who can show a military ID. Additionally, discounted tickets priced at $30 each will be available to military members for the 2014 Greenbrier Classic Concert Series, featuring Maroon 5 on Friday and Jimmy Buffett on Saturday at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds.
