FestivALL Concludes With Big Finish This Weekend

FestivALL will carry excitement into the weekend in the capital city with lots of events and a big finish.

Fund for the Arts will present “Blues, Brews & BBQ” Friday at the University of Charleston.

The Carpenter Ants, blues band, will open up at 5:30 p.m. followed by Samantha Fish, Rick Estrin & the Nightcats. The evening will end with a performance from the Nighthawks at 10 p.m.

Along with blues bands, there will be an array of alcoholic drinks, offered for purchase to those with photo identification, and barbecue food options to enjoy.

Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the gate.

The Charleston Town Center also will host a few FestivALL events this weekend. Aaron Hay, also known as Dizzy Doc, will be performing from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, twisting balloons into unique balloon sculptures.

“Catch Me If You Can,” produced by the Charleston Light Opera Guild will take the stage at the Civic Center Little Theater at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the Civic Center Little Theater Box Office.

On Saturday morning, you can find runners taking the streets of Charleston for the first annual Biggest Loser Run/Walk. This event features a half marathon, 5K and one-mile Kids’ Fun Run.

This weekend also features a Capitol Street Art Fair with more than 90 new and returning artists displaying their work along Capitol Street. The Art Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

A very popular FestiVALL event, Wine & All That Jazz at the University of Charleston, is slated for Saturday. The event will kick off at 2 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. The event will feature multiple jazz bands, legal beverages for those 21 and over, and food.
