A Belle mother was arrested and is accused of abandoning her baby for drugs, while a grandmother in tears over the whole incident.

Kristen Endicott of Belle was arrested Tuesday night on Witcher Creek. Troopers said she abandoned a truck with her baby inside. They also said she was out looking for drugs.

Police were looking for Endicott on an outstanding warrant for grand larceny. They said she and her boyfriend, Troy Allen, stole thousands of dollars worth of items from his grandmother, Dreama Allen.

Eyewitness News spoke exclusively with Dreama Allen, who said she is heartbroken about what’s happened. She fought back tears the entire time.

She’s a grandmother, who loves her grandson, despite him running-up nearly $50,000 in credit card debt, while trying to buy pills.

In an emotional interview, she said she will not pay his bail and that she cannot be a victim of his addiction ever again.

"My credit cards are up to $45,000," Allen said.

She said it's the credit nightmare she feels she may never wake-up from.

"I haven't had TV for a month," she cried.

Her grandson, Troy Allen, 19,is accused of stealing every TV in her house, her personal and work computers, and then pawning them for drugs.

"I can't hate him!" she said.

She said there was a mountain of debt suddenly facing her.

“I thought, ‘How in the world - how am I ever going to pay for it?" she said.

Allen is working with the credit card companies, trying to get the thousands in charges taken off.

"Working on it, yes,” she said. “I have filed fraud charges and that's one of the reasons he's in jail!"

And so is his girlfriend Kristin Endicott, who is accused of stealing Dreama Allen's truck.

"She was buying crack cocaine in the Rand area," Sgt. Larry O'Bryan, with West Virginia State Police, said.

But O’Bryan said she abandoned the truck and her baby at the Witcher Creek Exxon station. Endicott sobbed at her arraignment Wednesday. Police said she failed all three field sobriety tests and is charged with child endangerment, child neglect, grand larceny and driving without a license.

"We've recovered almost $20,000 worth of stolen property between her and her boyfriend Troy Allen," O’Bryan said.

And what about the baby left in the SUV?

"He's fine,” she said, smiling. “He's two years old and at an age he don't know what's going on thank heavens!"

Her grandson is clearly struggling, she said.

"He has said several times he would kill himself, and I don't want that!," she said. He's in the medical unit at the South Central Regional Jail, and being watched closely.

When asked if she would bail him out, she replied, “No, I'm not."

Allen said she tried for months to get him to check in to a rehab center with no success. He was hooked, she said, on roxycodone.

"He told me he was doing one, but then he admitted yesterday, he was doing five, six, seven a day," she said. "He still jokes around and laughs, teases with me, but he still has to have the pills!"

Allen has applied for guardianship of her grandchild.

"I'm going to make sure he's not brought up by drug people," she said.

Troy Allen's bail is set at only $5,000. Endicott's is set at $75,000 cash-only bond. Dreama Allen is still waiting to hear back from the fraud departments from each credit card stolen and laments it could take several months to get her finances back on track.
