FestivALL started on Friday with a boom!
"Just very much looking forward to tonight, rain or shine," Chris Vance said.
Vance is the lead singer for the Fransworth, Friday's Live on the Levee and FestivALL's opening band.
Two big events in Charleston battled the rain hoping the show would go on.
Vance was asked if he thought the rains would be a major factor in the band's show.
"They didn't stop Woodstock," he said
The week ahead is full of fun-filled events, a tradition in Charleston that many people look forward to.
"We come down. We watch the parade, there's going to be a parade. It's pretty fun. It's fun for all ages," Samantha Buford of Charleston said.
Several people gathered under the canopy at Haddad Riverfront Park.
The accessory many people didn't leave the house without was an umbrella, and they may want to hold on to it with spotty showers expected throughout next week.
"The rain's not gong to let anyone melt. Just come on down and bring an umbrella," Jessica Jones of Charleston said.
But, unfortunately, the rain put delays on not only setting up for sound checks early in the evening, but Vance and fellow band members had to sit tonight out.
Mother Nature just wasn't ready to handle the fun.
"You know it is what you make of it. I think you should definitely brave the weather to see some great entertainment," Vance said. "You're lucky to live in a town that brings it to you. And I think you should definitely take advantage of it."
FestivALL continues through June 29.
