Own a collector’s item that represents tradition and can provide some motivation to get in shape.

There is still time to order a special running shirt for the Charleston Distance Run. The Distance Run Committee is offering a Brooks running singlet with the CDR logo for $30. Purchases must be prepaid and received by July 31.

“Our race has lots of tradition that brings competitors back year after year and attracts new participants,” Race Director John Palmer said. “We believe this high-quality singlet is a great keepsake of this special event that runners will want to add to their collection.”

The optional singlet is made with a moisture wicking fabric and features the Brooks logo on the upper left chest. All colors of the singlet will have the CDR logo printed with white ink in the center chest area.

Male and female singlets can be ordered in the following sizes – extra small, small, medium, large, extra large and extra, extra large. Available colors are red, gold, purple, royal blue, navy blue and light blue.

The singlets will be distributed between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 29 during the Friday night pasta party at the Charleston Civic Center. Any singlet not picked up on that date can be picked up at SportMart after Sept. 7. Anyone who does not pick up his or her singlet can have it mailed upon the receipt of $5 to cover the cost of mailing.

Singlet orders can be made at the Charleston Distance Run website here.

This year's Charleston Distance Run is scheduled 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30.
