CHARLESTON W.Va. (Fallon Pierson) -- There was a rumbling of motorcycles in Charleston Thursday morning.

More than 500 bikers rode in, making a stop at the Capitol for their annual tribute to veterans.

This is the 26th year for Run for the Wall. It's a 10-day trip that starts in California and ends at the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

The motorcyclists' mission is to promote healing among all veterans and to call attention to Prisoners of War and those missing in action, but to also support all members of the military.

This is a run that started with just 18 Vietnam veterans. Now every state in the union is represented in this ride.

Teri Pickering has spent the last nine days on the back of a motorcycle.

"We ride for those who can't, meaning KIA and MIA," Pickering said. "We still have MIAs in Vietnam. Also, in the war on terror, and we ride to help get awareness to help bring them back."

The bikers also hope that as the current Vietnam veteranss age, more of the younger generation of military will take part in the ride.
