SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- Metro 911 said emergency crews were able to find a lost hunter and were taking him out of the area on an all-terrain vehicle.

The hunter had called his family and said he had become tired and disoriented. A search began Monday afternoon in Frogs Creek near Kellys Creek in the Sissonville area. The call came in to Metro 911 about noon.

Multiple emergency units responded to the call, including the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department, Kanawha County Ambulance Authority, Kanawha County Sheriff's Office and the Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.

Rescue crews tried various approaches to locate the hunter. They sounded sirens and tried to use a "ping" to locate the hunter's cell phone. About 1 p.m., it was reported that the hunter had visual contact with one of the rescue crews. An emergency dispatcher said crews were in the process of taking him out of the area about 2 p.m., and he appeared to be OK.
