PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Tiersa Davis) -- Eight people were indicted in an alleged heroin trafficking ring in Scioto County.

Delores M. Hoag, 51, Ronald J. Hoag, 22, Amanda B. Price, 27, Melissa A. Stiltner, 38, all of Portsmouth, Dawnetta A. Cargle, Curtis O. Jackson, 25, Malcom D. Owens, 24, and Brandi A. Bellfo, 27, all of Dayton, were indicted on charges of trafficking in drugs and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force said the suspects were involved in a heroin trafficking ring from Portsmouth to Dayton. During a three-month investigation from November 2013 to January 2014, members of the task force said they seized 65 grams of heroin, 24 grams of Fentanyl and more than $3,500 in cash. They estimate the street value of the drugs to be more than $13,000.

The case was presented to a Scioto County grand jury and it decided to indict the suspects. All but two of the suspects were arraigned on the charges. A warrant for Bellfo was issued, and Cargle is the Montgomery County jail facing additional charges.
