ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- Kanawha sheriff’s deputies said they are investigating the report of a robbery and kidnapping from the parking lot area of the 7-Eleven at West Main Street and Coal River Road near St. Albans.

The manager reported he was taking the daytime deposit to the bank about 9 a.m. Friday and when he got into his car, he was confronted by a male wearing a black and green ski mask, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the manager said the suspect had a knife and forced him to drive to an isolated area along the Coal River on Strawberry Road, where he punched the manager and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
