CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) – For most people, the first instinct when encountering a zombie is to run.

You can do just that at Camp Virgil Tate on Saturday.

Zombiefest, a festival operated by The Haunted Barn, will feature a Zombie run, an event that organizers describe as a 5K run on steroids.

“Nothing will motivate a runner more than being chased by a 100+ zombies. Zombie runs have become one of the most popular themed runs in the country, and this event is destined to be one of the best,” organizers said on the event’s website.

Zombiefest also features a Zombie free 5K obstacle course run and a 5K bicycle course run. The Apocalypse After Party will feature appearances with several celebrities, live concerts, Zombie apocalypse laser hunter, vendors, concessions and beer.

Following is a schedule of events:

* 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., 5K Zombie free obstacle run.

* 12 p.m.-2 p.m., 5K mountain bike course ride.

* 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., 5K Zombie run – “Race of the Dead.”

* Noon to midnight, Apocalypse After Party.

For more information, visit the event’s website here.
