MILLER, Ohio (Darrah Wilcox) -- WTCR morning radio show host and promotions director Judy Eaton is part of the Women in Media Day for the National Women Build Week for Habitat for Humanity.

"You're making a difference; you're learning a new skill," Eaton said. "I just think it's a great cause and super proud to be a part of it."

For Eaton, the new skill was running a power saw to cut siding.

"I've never done siding before, so basically it's just measuring the length and then cutting the siding, and the hard part's going on back there, They have to hammer it on there," she said.

That is what Eyewitness News Reporter Darrah Wilcox spent the morning doing, hammering up siding piece by piece.

Habitat volunteer Daryl Kinch helped the women through each part of the project.

"That's really what it's about is to get a chance to learn a few things, but also realize that they can do it," Kinch said.

Several ladies from Lowe's also helped out. Lowe's is the national sponsor for Women Build Week.

"By having the groups come in, it speeds the process up that much more," Kinch said.

It's something that makes future homeowner Linda Dennison even more grateful.

"It's been a long dream come true, and I can't wait to get in the new house," Dennison said. "I've never had anything this nice."

That is a testimonial that makes the labor even more rewarding for volunteers such as Eaton.

"It makes you feel good because you're making a difference in the community," she said.

Several other groups of women will participate throughout the week. Dennison's home in Miller is the first Habitat home being built in Lawrence County, Ohio.
