CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Kennie Bass) - What a way to make a living!

The Charleston Light Opera Guild travels back in time to 1979 to present "9 to 5: The Musical."

Based on the hit movie starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton, it tells the story of three working women who have to find a way to deal with their horrible boss.

He's a sexist. egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot. The trio orchestrates a desperate kidnapping to take over the office and improve everyone's work day.

"I think it translates perfectly," Elizabeth Cary Brown (Judy) said. "We're keeping a lot of what was in the movie the same. And I think we're adding a few new twists and expanding on a few new characters so I think it makes it even more fun. And I think everyone can relate to something in this show."

Although the Grammy-winning, number one title song is the musical's most recognizable tune, the stars say the production has many entertaining numbers.

"My first experience with the songs were, they're very catchy," Rebecca Mullins (Violet) said. "I think people are going to love them. Dolly Parton never fails to impress me. I think that to hear the songs that she writes and performs herself and that she was able to create songs for theatre. I didn't know that was something she could do or did, And I just think she's amazing."

The three stars say not only do their characters bond together during the show, they've done the same thing in real life.

Becky and Cary and I really have an interesting story," Rudi Raynes (Doralee) said. "Because coming into this we didn't know each other. And it's like that in the musical. They start out as strangers not even liking one another and by the end they've formed this major girl power group. And the little trifecta of me, Cary and Becky we're kind of the same way."
