Two Arrested Following West Side Robbery

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Katelyn Sykes) -- Charleston police have identified the two suspects in Wednesday morning's robbery.

Grant Patterson, 19, and Darius Rose, 20 are both charged with first degree robbery and malicious wounding. Both are from Charleston.

According to their criminal complaints, the pair went to a home on Livingston Avenue to commit an armed robbery, during which they brandished a firearm and pistol whipped two men to gain their compliance.

One of the victim's had to get ten staples in his head. The second victim had several cuts to the left side of his face.

During the incident, Patterson accidentally shot himself in the foot. He showed up at Women and Children's Hospital and was released to police a short time later.

After Rose's arraignment, he told cameras he was just giving Patterson a ride to the hospital and didn't commit a crime.

Both men are in the South Central Regional Jail on $25,000 cash only bonds.

Two men showed up at the hospital and said they had been pistol-whipped in the head in the robbery. A third person showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Charleston police said the victims in this investigation aren't cooperating. They also said the shooting victim accidentally shot himself in the foot.

Police will release more details into what happened later Wednesday




CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Katelyn Sykes) -- Charleston police are investigating a robbery after three people showed up to the hospital with injuries.

Police said it happened about 2 a.m. Wednesday on Livingston Avenue.

Charleston detectives said a man showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot. At the same time, two men showed up to the hospital claiming they had been robbed on Livingston Avenue and pistol-whipped in the head. Police said both men did have injuries to their head.

Both incidents are under investigation at this time and police said they plan on releasing more details Wednesday morning. They said right now they are conducting interviews.
