CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Katy Brown) -- Charleston police have been busy piecing together exactly what happened at the Charleston Cellar early Saturday morning.

As a result, one man was arrested and yet another on the run. And sadly, a third man was sent to the hospital, where he's fighting for his life

"Be a man. Fight with your hands if you're going to fight. Don't use a gun," pled Donna Beasley, wife of the victim.

Richard "Jimmy" Beasley has been a bouncer in the Charleston area for years. It was early Saturday morning that police said two men gunned him down.

"I had just talked to him at 1 o'clock," said Beasley. "I told him I was going to sleep. I'll see you when you get home."

Lt. Steve Cooper with Charleston Police said Beasley was walking two ladies to their car near closing time. That's when the attack happened.

Police said George Sawyer and Tasheem Collins were kicked out of the Charleston Cellar and that the duo tracked down Beasley, who works at the Charleston bar.

Police said the two men then shot Beasley 12 times, hitting him in the head, arm and the legs. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.

According to police, both suspects took off across Kanawha Boulevard. Sawyer headed into the river to get away from police.

"He was about 15 yards into the river," Chief Brent Webster with Charleston Police said. "I think he realized he wasn't going to get anywhere so he came back out."

Police arrested and charged Sawyer with malicious wounding and assault.

Police said, along with shooting Beasley, a bullet grazed one of the women with him.

Sawyer also suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist. Police are unsure of how it happened, but he was treated before being sent to jail.

As for Beasley, a former Marine, his wife, family, and friends are all sure he will pull through.

"I just want to sit in there with him make sure he's OK,” she said. “And he's stubborn, so we're good."

The liquor license at the Cellar has been suspended for 10 days.

Police are still looking for the second suspect, Tasheem Collins.

If you have any information on where he might be, you're asked to call police.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Mamie Buoy, Katy Brown) - We have more information on a shooting that injured a nightclub bouncer in Charleston.

Police say George Sawyer and Tasheem Collins got into an argument inside the Cellar and were kicked out. They say Sawyer and Collins came back to the area with a gun and shot former bouncer, Richard "Jimmy" Beasley, while he was walking two women to their car.

Beasley was hit 12 times in the head and upper body. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

One of the women was grazed with a bullet but is expected to be okay.

Police say Sawyer jumped into the river, but officers were able to catch him. He also had a gunshot wound to the wrist. He was treated, released and then taken to South Central Regional Jail.

Police are still looking for Collins.

At this time, it is unclear what started the argument at the Cellar or why the men were targeting Beasley.
