CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Taisha Walker) -- Three people were charged and placed in jail in connection to a shooting on Charleston's West Side.

Kenneth Gooden and Carlos Gray, who are both from Detroit, Mich., were charged Wednesday with wanton endangerment involving a firearm. A third suspect, Larry Alderman, was charged with obstruction for giving police several fake names.

Lt. Steve Cooper with the Charleston Police Department said Gooden and Gray got into a shootout at about noon at Glenwood Avenue and Simms Street with a group of people driving in a gray sedan.

Neighbors reported hearing five to 10 gunshots. A bystander, who has been identified as Craig Tolley, was struck by gunfire in the arm. Cooper said the victim is recovering from his injuries at CAMC General Hospital.

Police are still looking for the armed individuals who were driving in the sedan.
