BIG CHIMNEY, W.Va. (Chris Williams) -- It's something you normally see on a TV show, but yesterday Bryan Crosier was out four wheeling with his dad when he came across a body under the leaves.

"I looked down in there. I got a stick, I was moving around some of the leaves. That’s when I noticed it was a body," said Bryan Crosier.

Crosier said the body was decomposed, and only had a little bit of skin left on it. Crosier said he immediately called his dad over to where he found the remains. HIs dad is a Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputy.

Detectives were immediately dispatched and investigated the scene for several hours. People who live on Four Mile Road were stunned to hear a body found so close to home.

"It was unbelievable; I didn't know what was going on with that," said Mike Breedlove who lives near Elkview.

"Everybody is just happy go lucky. Everybody is just friendly, and waves and smiles," said Jessica Fowler who lives down the road from where the body was found.

Fowler says it's the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows each other, and they're going to try their best to make sure something like this doesn't happen again.

"We need a neighborhood watch because we've never had this problem here before, so it's a little scary and a little concerning," Fowler added.

Police won't know much about the body until the autopsy is complete. Crosier hopes officers are able to find out what happened to the person he found, and says Saturday is a day he certainly won't forget.

"I've always wondered what I’d do if I came across a dead body. I didn't actually know I would one day," added Crosier
