CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) – Charleston police have made more arrests at a West Side bar that was the scene of a raid more than a week ago.

Police said early Thursday they responded to Shaar’s Bar at 829 Central Ave. Officers responded to numerous complaints regarding excessive noise and disturbance type issues in and around the bar, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department. Once at the scene, police said, officers discovered about 15 to 20 patrons outside on the sidewalk creating a disturbance. As a result, officers from the Patrol Division and the Special Enforcement Unit arrested the following individuals on these charges:

* Jimmy Green, 59 (trespassing and public Intoxication)

* Michael Gibson, 30 (disorderly conduct and public intoxication)

* Bruno Yanish, 44 (obstructing and public intoxication)

* Kentyl Miller, 32 (disorderly conduct)

* Jashad Releford, 34 (disorderly conduct)

* Tia Streater, 23 (disorderly conduct)

Police said the arrests were processed through the Charleston Municipal Court and all six were transported to the South Central Regional Jail. Police said they will continue to closely monitor the criminal activities in an around these types of establishments.

On April 1, police made seven arrests at the bar. Lt. Shawn Williams said the charges ranged from people having outstanding warrants, to simple possession, to disorderly conduct.

Police said that raid was prompted by neighborhood complaints. They also said several key players in a string of recent West Side shootings had ties to the bar.
