Three Plead Not Guilty In Kanawha Court

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Elizabeth Noreika) -- Three men pleaded not guilty in Kanawha county court Friday morning.
The judge gave Jerry Smith a trial date for June 9.

Smith is accused of stabbing Beth Whitely with a screwdriver at her mortgage office in Five Corners back in December.

Steven Thompson is set to be back in court May 5. He's accused of forcing a man into a home on Red Oak Street and stealing $5,000.

Police said he also shot a second man who was in the home.

That victim suffered wounds to the back and face.

William Nottingham will also be in court May 5. He is accused of attempting to steal two purses from two different woman at two different locations in Charleston..

He was arrested later and the women's credit cards were found with him.
