Warrant Sweep By Kanawha Deputies Results In 16 Arrests

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- Sixteen people were arrested on Thursday by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office in a warrant sweep.

Warrants related to domestic violence and family court law violations were the primary concern, but the teams arrested anyone located who had an active warrant in the sheriff’s office files, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The 16 people arrested and their charges are:

* Tiffany Shaffer, 24, of Patrick Street, Charleston, drug lab.

* Dencialla Derrix, 50, of 2957 East Dupont Ave. Belle, warrant/controlled substance.

* Steven Peay, 61, of 1576 Clearview Heights, Sissonville, capias/ domestic battery.

* Jeffery Hall, 39, of 5292 Clayburn Drive, Cross Lanes, child support, domestic assault.

* Dexter Conrad, 47, of 1587 Windsor Drive, Charleston, child support.

* Nicole Higginbotham, 36, of 303 East 8th St., Belle, burglary, grand larceny.

* Leonard Flack, 59, failure to register sex offender.

* Douglas Pauley, 48, of 5606 Kanawha Turnpike St. Albans, child support.

* Daimeyon Smith, 31, of 513 ½ Jordan St., Dunbar, child support.

* James Dickens, 49, of 3332 East Dupont Ave., Belle, child support.

* Dallas Dayhaw, 33, of 8400 Virginia Ave., Marmet, child support.

* Timothy Sands, 38, of 82 Barrister Road, Winifrede, child support.

* Jackson Brannon, 46, of 5008 Boxwood Drive, Charleston, warrant/domestic battery.

* Christopher Cavender, 29, of 268 Kanawha Two, Charleston, child support.

* Elizabeth Beasley, 47, of 4201 W. Washington, Charleston, child support.

* Terry Lucas, 42, of 647 Georges Creek Drive, Charleston, child support.

The sheriff’s office said this warrant sweep, like many others in recent years, was supported with manpower and other forms of aid by the United States Marshals Service.
