HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (Dave Benton) -- Two people shot on the dance floor at a popular night club in Huntington were recovering in the hospital Saturday night.

Police said the shots rang out around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Bar 1201 on Fourth Avenue. Police said somebody opened fire in the middle of the dance floor, and two people were hit.

Police said Amanda McGinnis, 24, was on the dance floor, when she heard gunshots and she noticed she had been shot in the foot.

Police said the other victim, Brandon Jennings, 21, was shot in the chest. He underwent surgery and is expected to be OK.

One man said he'll be more cautious when he's out at night.

“During the daytime, it’s not so bad, but if I have to run to the store at night, I'd rather run in a group than by myself,” Jacob Queen of Huntington said. “Just have more police and better gun control - not too much, where it restricts good people who have guns, just enough to where certain people can't get ahold of them. Have personality and background checks.”

Police do not have a suspect, but they plan to interview Jennings when he recovers from surgery.

The West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Association is suspending the bar's liquor license for ten days.

The ABCA also says further action might be taken against Bar 1201.

The agency is working with Huntington police in the ongoing investigation into the shooting, and said safety of the club's patrons is the most important thing right now.

Anybody with information that can help police find out who pulled the trigger is asked to call 911.
