HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (Darrah Wilcox) -- A group of Boston college students helped a Huntington organization and on Friday Mayor Steve Williams thanked them for their hard work.

A group of 14 students spent the week in Huntington with Habitat for Humanity.

They worked at two house sites and even helped-out at the Habitat Re-store.

A group from Boston College spends their spring break in West Virginia each year on a service project.

Williams proclaimed Friday Boston College Day in Huntington.

"Getting to really work and learn some new skills and interact with a lot of the community members and meet the homeowners was really special for me,” Jane Barry, group leader for the students, said. “I think gave me a good idea of what this community is all about and gave me a lot of respect for all the people here."

Another group of students from Johns Hopkins University will also spend their spring break in Huntington this month, helping out Habitat for Humanity.
