CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Bob Aaron) -- More Charleston area restaurants are making the switch back to tap water in the wake of a "safe '"report by U.S. Centers for Disease Control officials earlier this week.

Customer concerns and fears have been keeping some eateries partially on the bottle, following the Freedom Industries chemical leak.

Main Kwong is washing pots and pans with tap water, but still cooking with bottled water. Tap water is coming back into use in restaurants, but bottled water is still a much bigger factor than it was before a 10,000 gallon chemical spill near West Virginia American Water's intake on Jan. 9. 300,000 people were told not to use the water then. The tap is back, sort of.

Not many takes on that. Adelphia Sports Bar and Grille is still serving bottled water for drinking,, but has shifted to tap water for cleaning and, after boiling, cooking. The bottled water is an added expense for restaurants, but it is still what many of their customers want and some require.

West Virginia's congressional delegation is asking federal health experts to perform more lab studies on the chemical that spilled into 300,000 people's water last month.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has made a similar request.
