GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (Dan Matics) -- Two teenage girls, not even old enough to drive, were facing felony charges Friday night, after police said the pair led them on a wild chase in a car police say was stolen.
On Friday night, Larry Martin's daughter seemed like any other 13-year-old girl, at home watching the Disney Channel, except she was wearing an ankle bracelet.
"Yes, I am upset with my daughter," Martin, a father of one of the suspects, said while speaking exclusively to Eyewitness News from his home.
This past weekend, police said she was anything but a typical 13-year-old girl. Chief Clint Patterson, of Gallipolis Police, said she was in the passenger's seat while another 13-year-old girl led them on a 18-mile police chase with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour.
The teens avoided three road blockades.
Eyewitness News is not identifying the girl, because she's under 18.
"She learned from the video games," Martin said.
Detectives said the chase started after the girls stole a car from an adult friend they were staying with.
Detectives tried to pull the car over near the Walmart in Gallipolis, but the driver sped off, crossing the Silver Memorial Bridge into West Virginia, then looping around back into Ohio.
The chase ended when the car crashed into a fence in Rio Grande.
Police said they found pot and whiskey in the car.
Martin puts part of the blame on the adult the girls were allegedly staying with.
"You get them drunk. You get them high. You go to bed, and leave the keys out?" he said.
The father wanting to see charges against the man police say is the victim.
And, as his daughter waits for her day in juvenile court, he wants this to be a lesson.
"She can stay out or be locked in," he said.
