CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Stefano DiPietrantonio) -- And one by one, they marched into the room at the WV Lottery Headquarters. 12 smiling faces and why not?

"Absolutely, it's crazy!," one man said enthusiastically.

"I'm still trying to process this!," another lady said, as she held her check.

They all work at Innovative Mattress Solutions in Winfield and just cashed-in their winning lottery ticket. Their giant, million-dollar check was made out to “IMS Dreamers”, and their dream certainly came true.

"I went to my office, started my computer, and I thought ‘I'll check my lottery numbers, see if we won anything,’ " Susan Dennis, the spokesperson for the 12, said. She said her jaw dropped.

"Oh, we got a number!” she said. “We got two numbers! Oooh! Here's three numbers! Wonder what we win for three numbers! And I saw the fourth number and I said, ‘I'll bet you that's a couple hundred dollars!’ "

But then, she got to the 5th number and it began to hit her.

"And I said, ‘No, no!’ I said, ‘Do I have my right glasses on?," Dennis said.

She called a co-worker down the hall to come and re-read the numbers again.

"And I couldn't even hold my ticket I was shaking so bad,” she said. “He read them off to me and I said, ‘Oh, my gosh, I think we just won a million dollars!’ And he said, ‘Who?’ I said, ‘Not you!,’ "

The Commission handed each winner their cut of the million dollar pie, around $57,000, after taxes.

"I still can't believe it!," Kendra Preast of Scott Depot said, as she shook her head in disbelief. "I'm paying off my vehicle, and I'm paying off my husband's vehicle, I told him I was his lucky charm, so he needs to hold onto me!"

"If they'd spent one more dollar, they'd be splitting $2 million instead of one!," a lottery spokesperson said.

Eyewitness News asked the winners for a show of hands, who would keep on working? And they all raised their hands high.

"I love my job and I didn't win the big lottery!,” Rhonda Neal of Milton said. “So I have to continue to work!"

West Virginia has been on a hot streak lately. Players in the state have five $1 million dollar prizes from the Powerball and Mega Millions drawings. And the state is on track to beat last year's record. There were only five, $1 million dollar winners last year.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Employees at this Winfield mattress business can sleep a little easier tonight, In fact, they can afford to buy a whole new mattress, a bedroom to go with it and then some.

Twelve employees of Innovative Mattress Solutions were introduced Friday at a West Virginia Lottery headquarters in Charleston as the winners of a $1 million prize for matching five numbers in the Powerball game.

Susan Bennett, an employee at Innovative Mattress Solutions, the parent company of Mattress Warehouse, said when she checked the numbers, she had to go consult another employee to verify what she was seeing.

"Do I have the right glasses on?" she recalled saying. "I couldn't hold my ticket I was shaking so bad, and I said, 'I think we just won a million.' "

Bennett said a group of employees, sometimes as many as two dozen, buy tickets for Powerball when the jackpot reaches at least $100 million. This time, a group of dozen purchased 60 tickets.

Lottery Director John Musgrave said the winning ticket was sold at the Little General Store in Winfield, which will receive $10,000.

The group was photographed with a giant fascimile check for a million made out to the IMS Dreamers. Members were then presented with their individual checks. After taxes were calculated, each winner received about $57,000.

Musgrave cited the hot streak that lottery players in West Virginia have been on recently. He made a reference to the The Beckley 27, the group of newspaper employees from The Register Herald who claimed a $1 million prize last week.

"We talked here a few days ago about the Lucky 27. This is the Lucky 12," Musgrave said.

Randy Burnside, spokesman for the lottery, said the West Virginia Lottery had five $1 million last calendar year. So far this year, the lottery has already matched that total.
