KERMIT, W.Va. (Dave Benton) -- A Pizza Hut in Mingo County is shut down after sheriff's deputies said it looked like an employee urinated in the restaurant's kitchen sink.

The Mingo County Sheriff's Department's chief deputy said the video surveillance speaks for itself, and shows a man urinating in the kitchen sink at Pizza Hut in Kermit. Smith said the man was fired after someone anonymously posted incident on YouTube.

Health Department Sanitarian Brett Vance said the video surveillance is from a camera inside the restaurant's kitchen.

Michelle Adkins works at Giovanni's Pizza down the street and said after word got out about the video, her business picked up.

"I was supposed to get off at 4 p.m. yesterday but I stayed until 7:30," she said. " We were really busy. I just can't believe anybody would do that. Is he too lazy to go to the bathroom or what?"

It's still up in the air what could happen to the man. The prosecutor said since food wasn't involved, he can't be charged with assault, but the Health Department could take action.

Employees at the restaurant have already begun cleaning. The restaurant will have to pass inspection before it can reopen.

Pizza Hut's parent company has not yet returned a request for a comment regarding the video.

KERMIT, W.Va. (AP) -- Health officials have temporarily shut down a southern West Virginia pizza restaurant after a district manager was caught on surveillance video urinating into a sink.

Local media reported that the Mingo County health department ordered the Pizza Hut in Kermit, about 85 miles southwest of Charleston, to shut down.

Pizza Hut Corp. released a statement saying it was "embarrassed" by the manager's actions. The company says it has "zero tolerance" for violations of its operating standards. The employee was fired. His name was not released.

The video shows the manager urinating in a sink in the kitchen.

Pizza Hut said the incident occurred after business hours.

County health official Brett Vance said the restaurant is closed until it is thoroughly cleaned and there are reassurances of safeguards in place.
