CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- The state's newest millionaire is a retired truck driver and mechanic from Man.

During a news conference Tuesday, Randy Brown was introduced by West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave. Brown claimed his $1 million prize for matching five numbers from Friday's Mega Millions drawing.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet,” Brown said in a news release. “I didn’t find out until Saturday when I went to the store to check my ticket and I found out as the clerk did. It is unbelievable.”

Brown purchased his lucky ticket at the C and L Super Serve in Mallory.

Although Brown took home a large cash prize, unfortunately he did not play the Megaplier for an extra $1. Had he purchased the multiplier option, his prize would have been $3 million, because the Megaplier number on Friday was 3.

Lottery officials said this was a very lucky weekend for West Virginia. For the first time in lottery history, the Mountain State had $1 million winning tickets sold on back-to-back days. Tuesday's $1 Million Mega Millions prize claim was won on Friday night and was followed with a $1 million Powerball Match 5 win on Saturday (sold in Beckley).

Brown is the 63rd person to win or share a prize of $1 million or more in the lottery’s history.

The West Virginia Lottery is currently awaiting prize claims on the Lottery’s 64th and 65th millionaires to come forward. West Virginia has an outstanding Mega Millions match 5 ticket from the Dec. 17, 2013, drawing that was sold at the 7-Eleven in Belle. In addition, there was also a match 5 Powerball ticket that was sold in Beckley for last Saturday’s drawing. Both tickets are worth $1 million.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- It’s rare to hit a jackpot, much less jackpots back to back.

A rainbow must have been shining on West Virginia last week, with winning $1 million tickets sold on back-to-back days for the Mega Millions and the Powerball, according to a news release from the West Virginia Lottery.

Lottery officials said a news conference is scheduled at 1 p.m. Tuesday when a West Virginia resident will claim a $1 million prize for matching five numbers in last Friday’s Mega Millions drawing. The lucky ticket was sold at the C and L SuperServ in Mallory.

Meanwhile, a $1 million winning Powerball match 5 ticket was sold on Saturday in Beckley.
