An alleged night of terror is relived for a Kanawha County woman testifying against the man she says is responsible.
Prosecutors say Joey Jeffrey, 44, beat, stabbed, and tortured Leanne Quinn before taking her to an isolated area where she testified she was in fear for her life.
Prosecutors say Jeffrey thought Quinn had stolen drugs and other items from him when the incident happened on December 7, 2012.
Quinn testified she was doing drugs with Jeffrey and his co-conspirator, Cindy Creathers, before the alleged torture started.
"I was beat in the back of the head with a bat. He threatened to cut my hands off," she testified.
"Did he have a weapon?" asked assistant prosecutor Tera Salango.
"He had an ax," she said.
Quinn says Jeffrey punched, stabbed, beat, shocked her with an electrical cord, and even shot her up with what she thought was brake fluid and bleach at the time. Defense attorneys indicated she was not shot up with those materials, however.
Creathers has since pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery for her role in the incident
When Creathers pleaded guilty in September, she testified in open court, that while they were driving Quinn up an isolated mountain to dump her, Jeffrey told her he was going to dump her body in the same hole he put Melanie Metheny in.
Metheny has been missing since 2006 and her case has never been solved.
Kanawha deputies consider Jeffrey a "person of interest" in the case.
Metheny's grandmother, Sandra Metheny, was in the courtroom on Monday.
Prosecutors are asking the jury to find Jeffrey guilty with no mercy, meaning he would spend the rest of his life in prison.
The trial will continue Tuesday.
