NITRO, W.Va. (Kennie Bass) - After 26 years of bringing Hollywood's best to Nitro, Four Star Video is calling it a wrap.

"It was the hardest decision I've made in years," Brian Armstrong, the owner of Four Star Video said. "I didn't want to make the decision but I just felt like I kept on throwing money away and financially I just couldn't do that anymore."

Armstrong says the way we enjoy movies at home is changing and that traditional video stores are going the way of VHS tapes. He says the failure of national chains like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video was a sign of things to come.

"Everything is so accessible on the internet," Armstrong said. "Sitting
on your couch you can watch a movie and you don't have to come to the video store anymore, which is terrible."

Four Star isn't the only Nitro store closing up shop. In December, Cat's Back Records locked its doors after 24 years. Right next door, Missy's Puppies, a grooming service, also shut down.

Customers say shopping local has to be a conscious decision.

" Yeah, you can go wherever and get something for a dollar less," Rod Lanham of Scott Depot said. "But you can come to a place that's a half mile from your house, maybe pay a little bit more but you're supporting the economy."

Armstrong is conducting one final sale to move all of his merchandise before he turns off the marquee for the final time.

"I fear we're not going to be the last ones," Armstrong said. "I hope that my other friends that own businesses, I hope they hang on. But people have to shop small. If they do not spend their money in town then everybody's going to lose out."

Armstrong said his going out of business sale will probably last for a couple of weeks, to allow him to sell off his remaining inventory and store fixtures.
