PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Jeff Morris, Dan Matics) -- Scioto County deputies have arrested two women who they said went on a crime spree.

Leanna J Ramey, 31, of Wheelersburg and Danielle Starcher, 28, of Jackson, Ohio, face multiple charges in connection with robberies that occurred Saturday and Tuesday, according to a news release from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said his office received a 911 call about 6:30 p.m. Saturday from the clerk working at Sun Spot tanning salon. The clerk said she had just been robbed at knifepoint by two females.

Donini said deputies who responded learned that the two females took the clerk’s cell phone and business phone and made her go into a tanning room, and they told her not to come out. Detectives viewed surveillance video and were able to identify possible suspects. This information was given to all deputies and local law enforcement.

On Tuesday, the 911 center received a call from an employee at Kenny’s Convenient Mart at 6:30 a.m., stating the store had just been robbed by a female who left the area driving a gold Lumina. Detectives responded to this location and were able to view the surveillance tape and identify this female as one of the females from the Sun Spot robbery on Saturday. Detectives had been investigating a theft of money from the Minford Quick stop that occurred on Jan. 16, where these females also were suspects, the release said.

Bree Streets, Kenny's Convenient Mart Manager, said getting robbed has always been in the back of her head.

"It is scary," Streets said. "To know someone would just walk in and say 'I'm going to rob you."

Streets watched on live surveillance cameras from her home, Tuesday morning as one of her employees was held up. She said it's comforting to know the suspects have been caught.

"It's a relief," Streets said. "They did wrong! Now they are going to serve time."

Donini said detectives and deputies patrolled the Minford area after that robbery, checking possible locations and patrolling for the suspect vehicle. Detectives located the suspect vehicle parked behind a trailer on Furnace Creek Road in Minford. Deputies searched several trailers and said they found one of the suspects, Ramey, inside the trailer. Ramey was detained for questioning, and her vehicle was impounded.

During this investigation, detectives learned that the other suspect was at a residence in Jackson County. Detectives responded to Petersburg Road in Jackson County and were able to detain the other suspect without incident.

Ramey has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery, one count of kidnapping, safecracking and one count of robbery. Ramey is being held on a $255,000 bond. Starcher has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery, one count of kidnapping and one count of safecracking. Starcher is being held on a $205,000 bond. Both women were scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Wednesday.
