CROSS LANES, W.Va. (Jeff Morris, Katelyn Sykes) -- Mardi Gras Casino & Resort reopened at 9 a.m. Friday after flushing of the plumbing system was completed. Water service was restored overnight.

Food and beverage outlets remain closed pending health inspections, according to a news release from casino officials. The casino's mobile kitchen remains in operation to serve guests food and beverage as it has done since Sunday.

Casino officials said they would like to thank its employees and guests for their cooperation and patience during this time.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (Katelyn Sykes) -- The Mardi Gras Resort and Casino has closed their doors on Thursday because of the on-going water crisis.

In a news release sent by Robert T. Lagg, General Manager of the Mardi Gras Casino, it will remain closed until they've been given 100% certainty that it's safe to reopen.

"We are aware of all the issues and concerns of everyone affected by this recent crisis. In the best interest of everyone affected, we will remain closed until we have been given 100% certainty that it is safe to reopen.

"Mardi Gras Casino & Resort is very sorry for any inconvenience. While we are not happy about the circumstances, the welfare of our guests and employees is our primary objective. We will update everyone when we have more information."

No word on how long the casino will be closed for.
