Do-Not-Use Order Lifted For Some Eastern Kanawha Customers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia American Water has lifted the do-not-use water order for customers in the southeastern part of Kanawha County, including Marmet, Belle, Chesapeake, Cabin Creek, Pratt and Paint Creek.

Customers are encouraged to check the online map to determine the status of their specific location.




CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- The do-not-use water order has been lifted for areas around Grandview and Allen’s Route, West Virginia American Water said.

The water company advised to consult the online map to determine your status.




CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Bethany Simmons) - West Virginia American lifted the ban for areas of Sissonville about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The company said the order has now been lifted for approximately 51,000 customers.

Customers should consult the West Virginia American Water map to find out whether or not they are in the safe zone




CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- West Virginia American lifted the ban for more areas in Kanawha and Putnam counties and said that half of all of its customers are now restored.

The water company said the ban has been lifted for Dunbar, Nitro, Poca, Bancroft, Winfield, Buffalo and Staves Branch. Those customers can now begin the flushing process.

Water company officials have advised customers to please consult the map on the company's website to ensure your address is in the approved blue zone before beginning the flushing process of your plumbing service. Customers who are still in the red zone must wait until they are in the blue area.
