Eyewitness News To Air Latest Water News Conference On WCHS, WCHSTV.COM

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- Eyewitness News will bring you the latest on the water crisis that has affected nine counties.

A news conference with the latest developments in the situation is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday. You can see the news conference on WCHS TV and also on our website live at this link

The news conference will be held at the Kanawha Valley Water Treatment Plant on Court Street. West Virginia American Water and state and county emergency officials will be in attendance.

West Virginia American Water issued a do-not-use-water advisory on Thursday for customers in Kanawha, Boone, Putnam, Lincoln, Logan, Clay, Roane and Jackson counties. The Culloden area of Cabell County also was included. The situation was prompted after a chemical leak at Freedom Industries seeped into the Elk River,
