DUNBAR, W.Va. (Katy Brown) -- Christmas may be over and all the presents unwrapped, but not for everyone.

One woman in Kanawha County is still waiting on one of her gifts to arrive.

It’s certainly not the time of year you want to have any problems when it comes to shipping packages, but for Patty Holland the trouble continues.

Every year, she looks forward to watching her family open Christmas presents.

With several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and, of course, the grandchildren, there are plenty of presents to be bought, wrapped and placed under the tree.

But this year, not every present made it.

“I wasn't able to honor my gift to her, which would have been the boots," Holland said.
Holland had bought her great-niece a pair of boots from Elder-Beerman.

The order was placed on Dec. 2.

A week later, UPS told her the package had arrived at their depot.

"I ordered two pair,” she said. “Mine came, and the second package was supposed to arrive the next day, which has never happened. At this point, it's considered a lost package."

Holland has been going back and forth between the store and UPS trying to find answers.

So far, she's no closer to receiving the boots, which seem to have just vanished.

“Elder-Beerman tells me that even though I've made the purchase, to them it's not a lost package because UPS keeps updating the arrival of the boots, which has yet to happen," Holland said.

Right now, UPS said the package is supposed to arrive on Jan. 3, nearly 10 days too late for Christmas.

"It was a little disheartening to look her in the eye and tell her that I wasn't able to give her what she'd asked me for," she said.

Holland said she's disappointed about how things played out, and is ready for it all to be over.

"I'm a forgiving person,” she said. “And if they would just credit the account, and let's call it even, it could be done."

DUNBAR, W.Va. (Katy Brown) -- The holiday may be over and all the presents are unwrapped, but not for everyone.

Some are still waiting for gifts to arrive.

Patty Holland said she ordered her great-niece a pair of boots from Elder Beerman nearly a month ago.

The package was delivered via UPS to the South Charleston depot, and now it's vanished, she said.

The delivery date keeps being updated, but no one knows where the boots are located.

Holland said she's getting a bit frustrated.

"You know, I have a large family and I just like to give,” she said. “I'm a giver. It was a little disheartening for me to look her in her eye and to tell her that I wasn't able to give her what she asked me for."

Holland said she wants one of two things to happen. She'd love the receive the package, but if that doesn't happen, she wants a refund.
