A cyber search was underway Thursday for two burglars caught on tape.
The owner of a Charleston business is fed up. His store was burglarized before the holidays, and he is turning to social media to track them down.
Ed Atkins owns Ed's RC, and was not the first time he has been hit by thieves - both times catching them clear as day on camera, helping themselves to some of his most valuable items. Now he is hoping the public can get the suspects guys off the streets.
The two thieves were caught on camera Thursday morning quickly breaking out the front door to the store in Charleston. They knew exactly what they were after.
The wasted no time going for the newest and most expensive items the store: a remote control truck worth $1,000 and another truck, sitting right beside it.
"I'm getting a little numb to it, I think,” Atkins said. “I'm getting tired of it. I can tell you that much."
Sick of it because this isn't the first time he has been targeted by thieves. In March, he captured a guy breaking in and making off with his entire cash register.
"I mean, you're not messing around in here,” he said. “Yeah, we've got it covered pretty well."
And it is not the first time he has used the powers of social media to get people's attention, posting crystal clear surveillance videos on Youtube and his business's Facebook page, hoping it won't be long until someone knows who they are.
"In all ways, it's pretty powerful," he said.
The thieves took off in a white four-door sedan, but, with help, Atkins thinks it won't be long until they're in the back of a police car and facing the consequences.
Anyone who knows who the suspects are is asked to call Charleston police.
