Much of the Eyewitness News viewing area is under a Flood Warning until late Friday.

The National Weather Service issued an Areal Flood Warning for Boone, Cabell, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam and Wayne County, WV and Lawrence County in KY, until 11:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, Metro 911 has received several reports of high water or water across the roadways late Friday afternoon. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution while traveling.

Flooded areas include Rocky Fork and Fishers Branch, the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in St. Albans, MacCrokle Avenue eastbound at the University of Charleston, MacCorkle Avenue between Chesapeake, East Dupont Avenue at Calvary Lane in Shrewsbury, Greenbrier Street at the Mill Creek Landing Apartments, according to an alert from Metro 911.

Route 4 in Clendenin was closed Friday night, due to multiple transformer power lines down.

High water led to road closures in Putnam County as well, with County Road 5 Manilla Creek Road and County Road 27 Hizer Creek Road closed.

W.Va. Route 61 was closed in the Handley area due to high water. Traffic was being detoured onto Church Hill Drive.

In Lincoln County, floodwaters blocked roads and trapped at least one family in a flooded home.

Floodwater poured out of small streams over roads and farm fields. Most of the trouble was in traditionally flood prone areas.

Along the Little Coal River, the road was closed after a mudslide and slip tore out a section of roadway and waterlines. The rain continued throughout the day leaving many people with concerns for themselves and others.

There is concern what will happen late Sunday and Monday when more rain is expected. The ground is saturated and actual flooding is still taking place in spots.

If you see severe weather happening where you are and can safely take pictures of what you see, please submit them to our See It, Shoot It, Send It page and we might show your pictures on our Facebook page or television.

Eyewitness News will have continuing coverage of this developing severe weather situation on WCHS at 10 p.m.
