Milton , Cabell County , West Virginia

Folks in the Milton community will have a chance to sound off about a growing problem in their community Tuesday night.

The Cabell County Partnership For Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership will host a town hall meeting about methamphetamine. The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Milton United Methodist Church on Church Street. Organizers said meth is a growing concern in the area.

A panel of city leaders, police, and community resources will take questions from concerned community members about what exactly meth is, why it is used, what is being done about the problem, and what preventative steps are being taken locally.

"Maybe this discussion will help people to realize that if they work together, there are people in the community and also in the state who might be able to assist them in that effort," Lynn Ormiston, director of the Cabell County Partnership For Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership.

Milton residents are glad there is an outlet where they can voice concerns. Roger Woods said he believes the town of Milton is "trying to get a real grip on it. They're tired of it. We're tired of it, and they're trying to move it out of here."
