Charleston Department Store has a big "bricks and mortar" presence on the west side and another at Trace Fork.
But, it's also reaching out to customers online.
Charleston Department Store is embracing cyber Monday, just like many of its larger competitors.
"It reaches a lot of people," John Overstreet, the store's webmaster said. "People that may not even know you are out there. Sometimes we get different WVU people from around the country. They just go to Google to find stuff, find a Cyber Monday deal and maybe get them to come back for another sale later in the year or down the road."
Along with Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday has become a retailers dream.
From first year sales in 2005 which totaled 484 million dollars, this year's bottom line is expected to top 2.2 billion, which would be 15 percent higher than last year.
Retail giants Amazon.com, Wal-Mart and Best Buy are all offering big savings on a number of items. Shoppers say they like the convenience of browsing their favorite store's aisles from home.
"Most of my shopping is done online because of the convenience," Nila Johnson of Cross Lanes said. "I'm not a crowd person. I don't like to be out in mobs of people shopping. And so I find what I want online. I order it and I get it."
And, Charleston Department Store managers are offering an added benefit. You can buy their online specials in-store at the same price.
"Saturday we had a guy that came in, he's a local but he saw some stuff on the website and came into the store looking for a deal in-store," Overstreet said. "And of course we gave it to him. But yeah, it helps that way too."
While many Cyber Monday deal expire at midnight on December 2, Charleston Department Store's online specials will remain in effect through December 8th.
