New Boston , Scioto County , Ohio

The Black Friday rush proved to be violent for one person at a Walmart in our region.

It's safe to say 'the reason for the season' was forgotten at a Walmart in Scioto County Thursday night.

New Boston city police would only say there was a 'trampling incident." as the stores opened its doors.

Police wouldn't say how many people were trampled or comment on their conditions.

Walmart managers wouldn't comment either and refereed Eyewitness News to a 1-800 number.

For one couple, there was no Black Friday shopping, just picking up a few groceries.

One woman named Bonnie said she took part in a Black Friday discount dash a few years back. She said she was knocked to the ground and nearly trampled.

"Oh, my God,” she said. “It was horrible! It was the only time I was here, and the last time!"

As stores use discounts to draw record crowds, after Thursday’s incident, many were almost saying, “No, way!”

There were some rumors flying around about how many people were affected.

Police refused to give a number and their conditions, but did confirm "a trampling incident."

A woman was reported trampled at a Walmart in Scioto County during Black Friday shopping.

Police confirmed that the shopper was trampled at the New Boston store late Thursday night during the rush by crowds.

No word was available on the extent of her injuries.
