Ranger , Lincoln County , West Virginia

Two brothers are in the hospital after a domestic situation at their home in Ranger.

Police said Jeff Turley attacked his brother with a knife, cutting him several times in the chest and neck.

Turley also fired several times gun shots in the home while several adults and children were around, police said. He then took off.

Lincoln County deputies and West Virginia State Police responded to the incident

When police arrived, they cleared the house and searched for Turley, who was found wounded nearby

"The male subject Jeff Turley was located approximately 500 feet from the home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest,” Lincoln deputy C.L. Shepherd said. “We transported him to Logan Regional, then to Chareston General Hospital, where he is currently residing in the intensive care unit."

No word was available on the current condition of his brother.

Police said Turley could face attempted murder charges.

Two men are in the hospital after one of them attacks the other with a samurai sword and then shoots himself.

Lincoln County deputies say it happened in Ranger around 8 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say they got a call that Jeff Turley attacked his cousin with the sword. Turley allegedly cut him in the neck, chest and almost severed his left arm. Turley then began firing several shots inside the home near several adults and small children.

When deputies arrived and were getting everybody out of the home, they say Turley ran into the woods. They found him about 500 feet from the home, unconscious from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

Both Turley and the victim, whose name has not been released, are in the hospital.
